automatically Logon to Windows / Windows User Accounts Controls

Ever noticed how one of your computers automatically logs into windows, and maybe another asks you for your password, even if you don’t have a password?
With this walkthough I will show you how to set windows to auto log on or even how to change advanced user account controls.
I am using Microsoft Windows Vista,(but will offer points for xp)
1. Start
2. type in the search bar ( cmd ) this will open the old command prompt
3. you will see the cmd program appear at the top of the list (click on it)
4. type“control useraccounts2″ (no quote marks with a space between control and useraccounts2″”)
5.now you should see this
6.See the tick box at the top, untick this and click apply and you will be asked for the username and password (if any) for the account you want to auto login to when windows starts.
Advanced Controls
If you are using XP Pro or Vista Ultimate you can change group settings and account information, but XP home and vista basic do not support this for some reason.

Use more than 1 core when booting Windows
Faster Windows Booting!
For reasons that I don’t try to understand windows is designed by default to only boot using one core of your processor.
An easy setting will allow your computer to use the extra core(s) that your computer has, to help it boot faster.
I am using Microsoft Windows Vista ( but will drop XP Tips)
1.Start
2.type in the search bar ( msconfig ) “XP type this into run”
3.you will see msconfig at the top (click this)
4.inside msconfig click the tab “boot”
5.then click advanced options
6.then click on the processors drop down list and select the highest processors number.
7.click ok to save the changes and restart your computer if asked.

FEAR 2: Project Origin
I have just finished playing this brilliant game from monolith, after playing both fear and the expansion pack, extraction point, this game doesn’t compare to any of the older games, the graphic detail is mind blowing, and the storyline unlike fear doesn’t drag on in small buildings, your pushed outside to continue your quest.
This game is something really different when it comes to first person shooters, mixed and fuelled by the horror background of fear, project origin takes on a whole new feeling, of jump out your seat moments, but monolith have made it more bearable then games like Doom 3, which seem really hard to play, as your mind cant work out what is going on, but with the backup of your squad things feel a little bit more in control.
The Ai in this game is truly amazing, its like playing multiplayer where you can never be sure on how the enemy will react, making this game very unpredictable.
I think the guys at monolith have done a really good job on this one and cant wait to see what they create next time.

Fear 2: Project Origin steam backup problem

I have found that if you make a backup using the steam client it only backs up the program files of the game and not the user profiles or saved games, in vista I have found that these are kept in. C:\Users\(username)\Documents\WBGames\FEAR2\(productnumber)
Once you find this make a backup of it, once you reinstall the game you can copy the setting across and carry on gaming! yay
Netgear Wifi Skype Phone

I have been using this phone to make free calls for nearly 2 years now, as long as you have a wireless router, your in business, this phone connects to the router via wifi and you can then sign into skype and ring anyone for free. really good product only thing i found is to make sure you keep the firmware updated to fix bugs.
Battery lasts for around 2 days standby and best part of 2-3 hours of use.

Resetting the computer BIOS / replacing Battery

Good for clearing boot problems or overclocking jams
If your already here I don’t need to explain what the Basic input output system (BIOS) is do I?
To reset your computer BIOS:
1.turn off your computer and turn off at wall socket but do not remove plug as this will keep you and your system earthed and prevent static damage to your mother board.
2.remove side of case
3.you will see a small silver watch battery attached to the M/B
4.remove the battery by pushing the silver spring to the side, the battery should just drop out
5.wait 10-15min and push the battery back into the holder on the mother board. ( Replace with new one if required)
6.reboot the system and set the bios up if needed.

This is a good way to perform a deep disk defrag. (note not GUI)
1.start
2.type cmd in the seach bar
3.open cmd from results by right clicking and run as administrator
4.type ( defrag.exe c: -f )
please note that c: is the HDD you want to defrag, change this setting as required.

This tool can be used to test a connection between two of more computers or even a website.
How to ping
1.Start
2.search cmd
3.open cmd
4. type ( ping “the ipaddress or website you want” and hit enter
E.g I want to ping my internet router so i type ( ping 192.168.0.1 )
or maybe a website ( ping google.com )
